OktoberFest Pumpkin Run

The OktoberFest Pumpkin Run is a fall 5K run/walk held at Woodward Park's Shinzen Activity Area in Fresno, California. A virtual option is available for those unable to participate in person. The in-person race begins at 8:00 AM Pacific time and serves as the 14th event in the CLASSIC Runner of the Year Series, awarding 10 points. The course features scarecrows and pumpkins, reflecting the Oktoberfest and Halloween season. Participants receive chip timing, age-group awards, a technical shirt, a custom finisher medal, and a locally grown pumpkin. Adults 21 and older can enjoy a beer post-race. The event also includes a costume contest and a Spirit Award. The race relocated to Woodward Park's Shinzen Activity Area due to growth, and its combination of walking, running, youth pricing, pumpkins, and costumes makes it a family-oriented event alongside its role as a points race.
