Om dette løb
The Jersey Shore Half Marathon and 2 Mile Run takes place in October at Sandy Hook, within the Gateway National Recreation Area in Highlands, New Jersey. Hosted by the Shore Athletic Club, the half marathon begins, followed five minutes later by the 2 Mile Run. This schedule accommodates runners seeking a full distance effort and those preferring a shorter run along the shore. The event has a participant limit of 800, with a virtual race option also available.
The course is flat and fast, suitable for runners preparing for a fall marathon or aiming for a consistent half marathon pace. The race's origins trace back to the Jersey Shore Marathon, first held in 1972, giving it a history longer than many New Jersey road races. Pacers will be available for half marathon finish times of 1:45, 2:00, 2:15, and 2:30. The event offers cash prizes for the top three male and female finishers, along with age-group awards. Participants will receive a long-sleeve shirt, a finisher medal, post-race refreshments, and a drink ticket redeemable at Off the Hook.
