Bürenlauf 2026

The Bürenlauf begins and ends in the historic Stedtli of Büren an der Aare, a town in Switzerland’s Seeland region. The primary event is an 11.5 km run with walking and Nordic walking categories, designed for both runners and those preferring a steadier pace over the same route. A shorter 5 km Bürenlauf light option, youth races, and a 1 km Muki/Vaki/Erki family run accommodate a wide age range, from competitive adults to children running with a parent or relative. The 11.5 km course follows mostly natural paths, with approximately 160 to 180 metres of elevation gain, and returns runners through the old town over the traditional Bsetzisteine cobbles before the finish. The 5 km route includes two climbs, forest sections, and a view of the historic mill. Children race on loops within and around the Stedtli, with the youngest participants staying entirely inside the old town. Personal touches include bibs printed with first names, a family run without a formal ceremony, mixed Sie + Er teams where one partner runs the long course and the other the light course, and rankings for companies, groups, and school classes.
