Julia's Warriors Run For Hope begins and ends at Little Platte Swim Beach near Smithville Lake in Smithville, Missouri. This October event features a 5K run and a 1-mile walk. The run starts first, with walkers beginning a few minutes later. This is the sixteenth year for the race, established to honor Julia Bargman's memory. Her family and friends organize the event to carry on her legacy following her fight with breast cancer. The course winds through the Little Platte Beach area, utilizing a section of road and paved trails around Smithville Lake. Ample parking is available close to the race location. Overall male and female winners will receive prizes, and the course records stand at 15:32 for men and 19:19 for women. The event also emphasizes community involvement, offering reduced registration fees for families and teams of four or more. Participants can also fundraise for various organizations and individuals. Additionally, $5 pink ribbons are available for purchase to be displayed in honor or memory of anyone impacted by cancer.
