The Trout Brook 2026

The Trout Brook is a trail race in Willow River State Park near Burkhardt and Hudson, Wisconsin, offering 10-mile and 5-mile options. It takes place in October, guiding runners through rougher park sections rather than the wide, open paths. The field is small, with the 10-mile race capped at about 100 participants, making it more akin to a challenging local trail run than a large, crowded event. The course features single-track trails, hills, and, when the route is intact, a stair climb; one recent edition omitted the stairs due to damage. Runners also see Willow River State Park’s waterfall, but the primary focus is the terrain.
