Loop Til You Drop Backyard Ultra uses a 4.167-mile loop at Turvey House in Turvey, Bedford. Runners start on the hour and continue until they cannot answer the next bell. All participants begin together at 9:00 am. Missing the exact hourly start disqualifies a runner, making the event as much about pacing, eating, resting, and decision-making as running speed.
The format follows the standard backyard ultra concept: complete the loop, return within the remaining time, recover, and then start again. Solo runners can continue indefinitely until they decide to stop. Pairs can compete, alternating loops with only one teammate running at any given time; both are eliminated if either cannot continue. A shorter, day-only option with a cap is available on the same route and format. The event includes chip timing, an aid station, first aid, porta-loos, prizes, and sponsorship from The Northampton Grocer. The shared hourly restart fosters a social atmosphere as the number of participants decreases.
