Blaufränkischland Marathon

The Blaufränkischland Marathon begins in Deutschkreutz, located in Austria's Mittelburgenland wine region, known for its rolling hills. This is a relaxed running and walking event offering four distances: a 5.7 km family route, a quarter marathon, a half marathon, and a full marathon. This race follows the motto “Enjoyment and fun along the entire route.” Participants encounter up to 13 enjoyment stations, many situated in wineries or directly within the vineyards. These stations feature local wine tastings and regional snacks alongside standard refreshment stops. The event, which started recently, attracts over 2,000 participants, including families, casual walkers, club runners, and half-marathon teams who treat it as a day out rather than a competition for personal bests.
